About the role

  • Software Engineer building external API integrations for Cohere’s North enterprise AI workspace platform. Owning integration pipelines, evals, tests, and tool performance.

Responsibilities

  • Build new integrations (tools) on the North agentic platform and maintain production integrations
  • Own the integration pipeline from design through shipping and ongoing maintenance
  • Help other engineers add integrations and improve the team’s process
  • Create evals and tests to verify integrations and alert on regressions
  • Tune tool descriptions to improve performance based on feedback and evals
  • Use AI actively while remaining accountable for the quality and reliability of shipped work

Requirements

  • Shipped production code
  • Comfortable building integrations against external APIs
  • Background evaluating agentic systems (ideal), or knowledge of evals with prompt engineering and tool-description tuning
  • Ability to execute in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
  • High agency and ability to learn quickly and drive change
  • Previous end-to-end ownership of projects or systems
  • Commitment to quality and reliability of shipped work
  • Enjoy helping other engineers succeed
  • Comfortable with at least 4 hours of working-hours overlap with the EST time zone
