Responsibilities
Conduct workshops with community groups online and in person
Promote the Empower Me program within the community
Plan and attend community events as an Empower Me representative
Report on relevant experiences working as a Community Outreach Facilitator
Maintain accurate records through data entry and record keeping
Answer participant questions and explain practical program information
Help multilingual communities reduce energy usage and improve home safety, health, and comfort
Requirements
Professional spoken fluency in English and at least one additional language: Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Ukrainian, or Russian
Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations
Working ability to use email, Office 365 applications, online meetings, and web-based forms
Excellent English skills — speak, read, and write
Able to work independently with little supervision
Must have own transportation with valid driver's license
Connections to community groups and associations within the Toronto and Mississauga regions desired
Outreach, networking, or sales experience desired
Work or volunteer experience with community-level groups desired
Workshop facilitator, teacher, public speaker, LINC or ESL instructor, or similar instructional/presentation experience considered a strong asset
Organization and planning skills desired
Familiarity with energy, sustainability, and conservation or willingness to learn desired
