About the role

  • Indigenous youth facilitators leading peer-to-peer mental health and healing conversations across Canada. Completing training and facilitating safe, supportive sharing circles through Jack.org.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate live sharing circles for Indigenous youth
  • Guide participants in exploring lessons and reflections from the video portion
  • Generate group discussion and connection around mental health and healing
  • Build mental health literacy and normalize conversations about mental health
  • Help reduce stigma related to mental health and illness
  • Prepare and facilitate the Jack Talk for Indigenous Youth
  • Connect with peers through contact-based education and peer-to-peer outreach

Requirements

  • Open to Indigenous youth ages 18–29
  • Interest in joining a movement of Indigenous young people leading mental health and wellbeing discussions
  • Entry-level opportunity
  • Complete comprehensive training in group facilitation, public speaking, and advocacy
  • Facilitate vital mental health conversations with peers in a safe and supportive way
