About the role
- Engineering Manager overseeing Kafka UI, Tableflow UI, and Governance UI for Confluent's cloud platform. Leading team in delivering cohesive user experiences for data professionals.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall vision and execution for Kafka UI, Tableflow UI, and Governance UI
- Work closely with product management, design, and TPMs to build and drive the roadmap
- Partner with backend and platform teams to define clear API contracts
- Raise the operational bar for this team by instilling strong execution practices
- Build, grow, and lead a team of engineers working on cloud UI applications
- Lean in technically where it matters most
Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Strong experience with Kafka, data streaming platforms, or data governance/catalog products
- Technical expertise in large scale systems engineering or distributed systems
- A strong track record of driving execution across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners
- Experience hiring while maintaining a high talent bar
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
