About the role
- Service Technician responsible for commissioning and performing maintenance on energy storage systems at Canadian Solar. Involves onsite support and travel to various project sites in Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Play an integral part of the service team, primarily responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB)
- Fulfill obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s) for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
- Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees
- Oversee and supervise sub-contractors on site when required
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
- Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed
- Analyze performance data determining root cause and performance trends
Requirements
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 2 years' of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
- Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
- Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
