About the role

  • Vice President leading advisory and capital-raising transactions in global mineral resources and mining. Managing client relationships, deal teams, valuations, and business development for Desjardins Capital Markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead live advisory and capital raising transactions end to end, from pitch through closing
  • Oversee the preparation of client materials and craft messaging and direction
  • Participate in client meetings and relationship management initiatives
  • Present analysis and recommendations and develop direct client responsibilities over time
  • Complete and direct transaction analysis and quality control, including financial models, valuation work, due diligence, offering documents and other client deliverables
  • Manage team capacity and staffing across concurrent mandates, set priorities and allocate effort to protect quality and meet deadlines
  • Provide direction and constructive feedback to Associates and Analysts
  • Mentor and develop junior professionals
  • Coordinate with legal, accounting and other advisors
  • Leverage product, coverage and cross-functional teams across Desjardins Capital Markets
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the mining sector and capital markets
  • Contribute to coverage strategy and business development discussions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in Investment Banking or similar
  • Experience executing on advisory and capital raising transactions
  • Knowledge and experience in the metals and mining sector is an asset
  • Ability to critically evaluate and craft presentation material messaging and manage the creation of client-facing materials
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple concurrent deliverables while managing a small team of junior professionals
  • Advanced knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including discounted cash-flow analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other relevant discipline OR completion of an MBA, CPA or CFA are considered an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of technical / computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, FactSet, Argus Enterprise) are considered an asset
