About the role

  • Indigenous Relations Advisor fostering respectful relationships with Indigenous communities across Quebec & Atlantic Canada. Collaborating with partners for meaningful engagement and contributing to long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain respectful, long-term relationships with Indigenous leaders, communities and partner organizations across Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
  • Represent Dexterra at community events, industry meetings and strategic gatherings.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, legal and other teams to support proposals, bids and business development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous engagement strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, coordinate agreements and ensure compliance with legal and financial obligations.
  • Support training to raise awareness of Indigenous realities and contribute to our PAIR certification efforts with the CCIB.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French required.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in Indigenous community relations, business development or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, realities and protocols.
  • Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Postsecondary education or relevant experience in Indigenous studies, social sciences, communications or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Solid knowledge of contract drafting and management, negotiations, financial reporting and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to quality of work and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently (40–50%) across Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
