About the role

  • Energy Drive Systems engineer developing motor-control and energy-optimization solutions for heavy industry. Assessing customer systems and supporting industrial projects from opportunity development through handover.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate industrial energy efficiency opportunities through customer site visits and technical assessments
  • Evaluate electrical systems, motor applications and industrial processes
  • Develop energy models, performance calculations and technical feasibility studies
  • Design solutions involving medium voltage motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), pumps, fans and industrial control systems
  • Support technical proposals and customer presentations
  • Work with commercial teams to develop opportunities and convert projects
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering and Maintenance teams for successful project delivery
  • Build long-term relationships with customer engineering teams and serve as a trusted technical advisor
  • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or Mechanical Engineering
  • Around 5–10+ years' experience within heavy industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of medium voltage motors, VFDs, pumps, fans and rotating equipment
  • Experience developing technical solutions for industrial applications
  • Experience with energy modelling, system performance analysis or equipment sizing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently within a remote environment
  • Willingness to travel across North America
  • Heavy industry experience desirable, including Oil & Gas, Mining, Metals, Cement, Water & Wastewater, or Heavy Manufacturing
  • Experience with industrial motor systems, VFDs, pumps, fans or rotating equipment highly advantageous
  • Ability to take ownership, solve complex technical problems, act quickly, build customer relationships, collaborate, and remain curious and adaptable
