About the role
- Data Scientist intern analyzing customer and campaign data for EQ Bank, Canada’s challenger bank. Building dashboards and optimizing risk strategies to improve growth and customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer, campaign, and business data to generate insights supporting customer onboarding, activation, engagement, and growth strategies
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and evaluating Next Best Action strategies using analytics, modeling, and testing methodologies
- Support analysis of customer journeys and marketing campaigns to identify opportunities to improve customer experience and business performance
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance tracking tools to monitor key business metrics
- Partner with Marketing, Product, and Analytics teams to support data-driven decision-making and campaign measurement
- Help automate and improve data preparation, reporting, and analytical processes
- Communicate insights and findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with the portfolio management team of the customer risk department
- Build process efficiencies and help optimize and implement risk strategies that drive business growth and strategic objectives
- Learn credit card industry fundamentals and the customer risk department’s role within the bank
Requirements
- An academic focus in mathematics, statistics, business, or a quantitative discipline
- Hands on experience with programming languages such as PySpark, SQL, or Python
- Expert in MS Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented and an ability to propose creative solutions
- Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and independently execute assigned work
- Team player and results oriented
- Submit transcript and resume in one document
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check and credit check if considered for hire
