About the role

  • Securitization Administration Manager overseeing accounting, reporting, and mortgage securitization activities. Supporting EQ Bank’s funding programs, financial analysis, compliance, and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting, reporting, and financial analysis for the Bank’s securitization activities
  • Develop understanding of securitization profit calculations and accounting
  • Execute routine accounting processes for Equitable Bank and Equitable Trust
  • Oversee creation, issuance, and settlement of new NHA MBS pools
  • Oversee daily cash tracking and balancing of servicer partners, including bank reconciliations
  • Ensure accounting and reporting for Covered Bonds activities
  • Monitor securitization regulations and help establish or modify data sources, systems, and processes
  • Support the Accounting group with appropriate accounting for NHA MBS and Covered Bonds
  • Prepare monthly accounting schedules and contribute to financial statement close
  • Assist with variance analysis, financial statement notes, and quarterly disclosures
  • Respond to accounting inquiries and provide ad hoc analysis for management decisions
  • Support compliance interactions with government agencies and external auditors
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including team training
  • Support new securitization initiatives with Capital Markets and other stakeholders
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to direct reports and coordinate, schedule, and review their contributions
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Operate under the management and guidance of the Director, Securitization
  • Work with Finance, Capital Markets, and Financial Planning & Analysis stakeholders
  • Meet productivity, quality, and organizational objectives
  • Participate in target setting, touch-base meetings, performance development planning, and semi-annual performance reviews

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education and professional designation in Accounting (CPA)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting at a financial institution
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of/experience with CMHC-sponsored NHA MBS and CMB securitization programs would be an asset
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven understanding of cash flow modeling
  • Experience executing complex financial reporting requirements, preferably securitization related
  • Experience in the mortgage industry and securitization preferred
  • Experience with data management and reporting systems
  • Experience in process development and controls management
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and drive process improvements
  • Proficient computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and accounting systems
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and credit check
