About the role

  • Senior Project Manager delivering infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives for EQ Bank, Canada’s Challenger Bank. Managing complex technology portfolios, budgets, governance, risks, and multifunctional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Director, Technology Project Delivery
  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects according to Enterprise Change Management and Project Management methodology
  • Baseline scope, schedule, budgets, resource needs, and other project parameters throughout the project life cycle
  • Manage a portfolio of strategically important, highly complex, and potentially long-duration projects
  • Deliver projects involving process transformations, digitized customer experiences, new product launches, platform upgrades, and regulatory initiatives
  • Focus initially on Infrastructure and Cyber Security projects within the Technology Portfolio PMO
  • Manage multiple material projects throughout their full life cycle
  • Provide leadership oversight and proactive advice as a trusted advisor
  • Lead and support multifunctional on-site, off-site, and virtual project teams
  • Lead detailed planning to establish expectations and enable on-time delivery
  • Manage project financials and budgets, funding approvals, and cost controls
  • Engage stakeholders and manage governance forums
  • Facilitate meetings and document minutes, risks, action items, issues, and decisions
  • Complete project evaluations, velocity metrics, and results assessments
  • Advise the PMO on Project Management Methodology, Standards, and Practices

Requirements

  • At least 6–10 years’ experience managing multiple projects simultaneously through the entire life cycle
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree), preferably in computer science, business, finance, or a comparable discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the regulated financial services or insurance industry
  • Infrastructure and Information Security project delivery experience and deep understanding highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Waterfall, Iterative, Incremental, and hybrid Project Management methodologies
  • People management, leadership, coaching, and mentorship experience is a major asset
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Agile, Scrum Master, Business Process Improvement, ITIL, or Change Management certification is a major asset
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, MS Office tools, business systems, technology infrastructure, software development, data warehousing, data centres, and related terminology
  • Ability to take charge and work independently
  • Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Vendor Management experience is required
  • Proven delivery record in business and Technology projects, especially digital projects
  • Effective risk management and issue resolution abilities
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and credit check
