About the role

  • Syndication Analyst supporting investor relationships, underwriting documentation, and portfolio management. Helping EQ Bank deliver syndicated commercial lending solutions across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of syndicate partner relationships
  • Provide product-specific advice regarding the Bank’s commercial products
  • Educate investors on the Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Market the Bank’s financial solutions to investors through regular ongoing contact
  • Fulfill documentation requirements throughout the loan lifecycle
  • Prepare and execute loan sale documentation
  • Support internal and external stakeholders during underwriting
  • Work with Originations and Credit to ensure file integrity and consistent partner documentation
  • Communicate syndicated loan terms and conditions to external partners
  • Respond to syndicate partner requests
  • Follow up on required documents and help ensure AML compliance
  • Support ongoing management and oversight of the syndicated loan portfolio
  • Partner with internal stakeholders throughout syndicated transactions from onboarding through maturity or payout
  • Facilitate investor onboarding, funding, and maintenance of syndicated commercial assets
  • Prepare and update Syndicated Lending team reports
  • Streamline and improve processes and reporting
  • Address ad hoc requirements for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree), preferably in business or finance, is required
  • 2–4 years of lending experience and demonstrated commercial lending underwriting proficiency
  • Knowledge of loan syndication principles, planning, and tactics
  • Technical knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting and financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of factors affecting the commercial mortgage market
  • Working knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and corporate/legal documentation for commercial real estate across multiple Canadian jurisdictions
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and credit check
