Plant Vehicle Team Engineer overseeing quality objectives and process improvements for Ford's vehicle manufacturing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams on innovative solutions in Oakville, Ontario.
Responsibilities
Own and drive cascaded functional quality objectives by identifying, escalating, and resolving chronic and new warranty concerns.
Lead and oversee Issue Resolution and Insights System (IRIS) warranty binning and analysis.
Lead and support cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement effective corrective actions, and drive sustainable process improvements for function concerns.
Prepare and present structured problem-solving documentation to support issue resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Document problem solving progress using Single-Issue Management & Problem-Solving Nexus (SIMPSN) system.
Support and present issue findings in plant quality meetings, Functional Quality Reviews (FQR), Director Quality Reviews (DQR), and Vehicle Quality Reviews (VQR) as necessary.
Serve as the Product Development representative for urgent plant containment activities and develop inspection and repair instructions as required.
Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to understand daily End of Line (EOL) and First Time Through (FTT) functional inhibitors and drive effective containment and corrective actions.
Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of vehicle issues identified during in-plant testing or inspection.
Support Change Control activities by coordinating and executing in-plant trials for design/supplier changes and assessing impacts to quality and production performance.
Support launch teams during major vehicle and component launches and drive resolution of any post-OKTB issues.
Lead assigned minor product launches in alignment with functional and plant leadership.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline.
2+ years of experience in Product Development; Quality; Manufacturing Engineering.
Immediate availability to travel to the United States, if required.
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
Six-Sigma Training (Black Belt or Green Belt Certification) (preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support quick decision-making (preferred).
Excellent leadership, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams (preferred).
Self-starter with ability to work autonomously (preferred).
