IT Project Manager leading enterprise technology initiatives for JUMBO’s Canadian supermarket launch. Managing AS/400 systems, implementations, integrations, and cross-functional delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support
Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, business users, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into effective technology solutions
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while proactively communicating project status
Support system implementations, user acceptance testing (UAT), user training, and change management activities
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of enterprise systems
Monitor project performance, track milestones, and provide regular updates to management
Ensure adherence to project management best practices, governance standards, and documentation requirements
Build strong relationships across business units to understand operational needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Information Technology (IT) projects
Strong technical background and understanding of enterprise systems
Proven experience managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, implementation, monitoring, and successful delivery within established timelines and budgets
Experience working with external IT vendors, technology partners, and service providers
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with AS/400 (IBM i) systems
Experience leading system implementations, user training, testing, change management, and post-implementation support
Strong understanding of business processes and ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions
Experience with enterprise applications such as ERP, POS, WMS, or other retail systems is an advantage
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with business stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and accountable with a strong sense of ownership
Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments is considered an asset
Availability to work full-time
Preferred: experience in the retail industry or omnichannel retail environments
Preferred: familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies
Preferred: experience managing enterprise software implementations and system integrations
