About the role

  • IT Project Manager leading enterprise technology initiatives for JUMBO’s Canadian supermarket launch. Managing AS/400 systems, implementations, integrations, and cross-functional delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, business users, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into effective technology solutions
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while proactively communicating project status
  • Support system implementations, user acceptance testing (UAT), user training, and change management activities
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of enterprise systems
  • Monitor project performance, track milestones, and provide regular updates to management
  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices, governance standards, and documentation requirements
  • Build strong relationships across business units to understand operational needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Information Technology (IT) projects
  • Strong technical background and understanding of enterprise systems
  • Proven experience managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, implementation, monitoring, and successful delivery within established timelines and budgets
  • Experience working with external IT vendors, technology partners, and service providers
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with AS/400 (IBM i) systems
  • Experience leading system implementations, user training, testing, change management, and post-implementation support
  • Strong understanding of business processes and ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as ERP, POS, WMS, or other retail systems is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and accountable with a strong sense of ownership
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments is considered an asset
  • Availability to work full-time
  • Preferred: experience in the retail industry or omnichannel retail environments
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies
  • Preferred: experience managing enterprise software implementations and system integrations
