About the role

  • Network Construction Project Manager delivering fibre, cabling, and switching infrastructure across IREN’s Canadian AI data centers. Coordinating contractors, engineering, procurement, and commissioning readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Own on-site delivery of physical network infrastructure, including fibre runs, structured cabling, patch panels, tray systems, and switching infrastructure
  • Manage site-level project plans, schedules, and daily coordination across network construction crews, cabling contractors, and implementation teams
  • Coordinate with Network Engineering to align construction with approved topology diagrams, port maps, and cable schedules
  • Track construction progress against the master schedule and flag delays, material shortages, and scope deviations
  • Manage delivery of fibre, optics, DAC cables, patch leads, and structured cabling materials with Procurement
  • Lead daily site stand-ups and weekly construction progress reviews
  • Conduct visual QA, cable dress inspections, and label verification before commissioning handoff
  • Coordinate rack elevation builds, cabinet installations, and PDU infrastructure with data centre operations
  • Support RoCE, InfiniBand, and Ethernet fabric validation with network engineering
  • Manage construction RFIs and scope change documentation, ensuring field changes are captured in as-built records
  • Maintain site safety compliance and coordinate access controls and contractor management
  • Ensure physical network infrastructure is delivered on schedule, to specification, and ready for commissioning without rework

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in network construction, structured cabling, or physical data centre infrastructure delivery
  • Hands-on understanding of fibre optic infrastructure, structured cabling, patch panels, and data centre switching environments
  • Experience managing construction contractors and cabling crews on active data centre sites
  • Ability to read and interpret network topology diagrams, cable schedules, and rack elevation drawings
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, construction, and operations teams
  • Experience in hyperscale, HPC, or Tier 3+ data centre environments preferred
  • Familiarity with Dell, NVIDIA, or Lenovo switching and networking infrastructure preferred
  • Knowledge of RoCE, InfiniBand, or high-performance Ethernet fabric environments preferred
  • Experience with NetBox or equivalent DCIM platforms preferred
  • PMP, RCDD, or equivalent project management or network infrastructure certification preferred
