About the role
- Electrical Engineer shaping the future of nuclear energy at Framatome. Engaging in design, analysis, and technical problem-solving for innovative solutions in the nuclear energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Performs non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems
- Receives minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions
- Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards
- Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications
- Continues to develop knowledge of organization processes and customers
- Works on special projects, as directed
- Performs other related duties and tasks, as required
- Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies
- Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd
- Maintains a safety mindset
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Registered Professional Engineering License (P. Eng.)
- Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment
- Good problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Displays informal leadership characteristics
- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
- Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role
