About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer for FutureFit AI, focusing on building scalable backend systems for complex integrations. Lead initiatives in reliability, operational excellence, and automation improvements.
Responsibilities
- Join our Integrations & Platform team to build scalable backend systems
- Design smart, scalable backend systems that power complex integrations
- Focus on a bidirectional sync system requiring sophisticated error handling and operational automation
- Build the infrastructure that improves integration reliability and operational excellence
- Develop automation initiatives to reduce manual support work
- Implement observability for automation processes and integrate with external partners
Requirements
- 5–8+ years in backend, platform, or integration engineering roles with focus on building reliable systems for complex external integrations
- Strong backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js and modern AWS services (Lambda, EventBridge, SQS)
- Deep understanding of distributed systems patterns: idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, and error handling
- Experience building and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs
- Proficiency with at least one database technology (SQL or NoSQL) for production systems
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using logs, metrics, and tracing
