About the role

  • Contract Manager leading contract strategy, risk, claims, and negotiations for GE Vernova’s major hydroelectric projects. Fully remote in British Columbia with 15–25% project-related travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contractual management of major hydroelectric projects from bidding through execution, close-out, and warranty
  • Develop and implement project-specific contractual strategies
  • Manage commercial and contractual risks, opportunities, notices, changes, claims, disputes, and insurance-related matters
  • Draft, review, and tailor commercial and contractual clauses
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, amendments, change orders, and commercial arrangements
  • Prepare contractual notices, amendments, change submissions, claims, and formal communications
  • Advise project leadership and cross-functional teams on contractual rights, responsibilities, obligations, and risks
  • Develop and maintain contract management plans and tools for tracking obligations, milestones, notices, changes, and claims
  • Coordinate major claims and disputes with Project Leadership, Legal, Finance, and other functions
  • Monitor contract compliance, document deviations, and maintain contractual records and decision traceability
  • Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews and support mitigation and opportunity-capture plans
  • Build relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Provide guidance and coaching to less-experienced contract management professionals
  • Report contractual risk assessments and updates through project-governance processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, Law, or a related technical or commercial discipline
  • Minimum eight years of contract management experience in complex project environments such as EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, power generation, or major industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Canadian energy or infrastructure sector
  • Experience working with public utilities, public-sector organizations, or sophisticated infrastructure customers
  • Ability to compile, structure, draft, and manage complex, high-value amendments, changes, claims, and contractual submissions
  • Strong understanding of project financial considerations, including costs, margins, risks, opportunities, and cash impact
  • Ability to analyze, structure, and solve complex contractual and commercial problems
  • Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Proactive working style, strong sense of ownership, and willingness to recommend and implement improvements
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15–25%
  • Experience with turnkey EPC projects or other complex project delivery models preferred
  • Experience in hydropower, power generation, major infrastructure, construction, or complex industrial-project environments preferred
  • Experience administering major equipment supply, installation, consortium, or subcontracting arrangements preferred
  • Experience managing significant changes, claims, insurance matters, or disputes preferred
  • Experience within a complex global or matrixed organization preferred
  • Experience coaching or guiding less-experienced contract management professionals preferred
