About the role
- Industrial labourer supporting GFL’s environmental services operations. Handling hazardous waste, industrial cleanup, remediation, equipment, and spill response at demanding worksites.
Responsibilities
- Assist with environmental cleanup and remediation activities, including soil excavation, waste removal, and site preparation
- Handle, load, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to safety and environmental regulations
- Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, vacuum trucks, and pneumatic tools
- Perform general labour tasks such as lifting, moving materials, shoveling, sweeping, and site setup/teardown
- Support spill response and containment efforts under supervisor guidance
- Follow strict safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
- Complete daily safety checks and report hazards or equipment issues immediately
- Work in confined spaces or at heights when required, with proper training and certification
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in industrial, construction, or environmental work is an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather and site conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to travel to different worksites as needed and stay out of town
- Valid “G” Class driver’s license preferred
- Confined Space, WHMIS, H2S Alive, and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain
- Valid work authorization in Canada required
