About the role

  • Product Designer working with engineering teams to create functional UI/UX for maritime intelligence solutions. Collaborating to enhance user experience and support product development in a global context.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to understand user needs, feature objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to designing complex workflows, data-dense interfaces, and operational decision-support experiences.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that improve user experience and meet product requirements.
  • Contribute to and apply the team's design system to ensure consistency across the SaaS platform.
  • Work within modern product development workflows using shared design systems, component libraries, and close collaboration with front-end engineering teams.
  • Translate workflows and technical concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging user experiences, with mentorship and support from senior team members.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support accurate implementation of designs.
  • Apply critical thinking and user-centred judgment when using AI-assisted tools to ensure outputs are accurate, usable, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
  • Participate in advocating for the user throughout the product development process.
  • Use analytics and user feedback to help iterate on and improve product designs after release.
  • Apply accessibility standards and SaaS industry best practices in all design work.
  • Stay curious about UX/UI trends, SaaS-specific design patterns, and emerging tools to continuously grow as a designer.
  • Support the communication of design rationale and help present concepts to stakeholders, with guidance from senior team members.

Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in a design or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in product design or a related role
  • Some experience working in, or exposure to, a software product development environment
  • Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Design, Figma Make)
  • A growing technical knowledge balanced with creative ability and a hands-on approach
  • Able to work independently on defined tasks while asking for help and direction when needed
  • Strong attention to detail, including clear documentation skills
  • Able to listen and develop an understanding of product and user requirements
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Able to sketch initial ideas and produce basic functional specifications, wireframes, and mock-ups.
