Product Designer working with engineering teams to create functional UI/UX for maritime intelligence solutions. Collaborating to enhance user experience and support product development in a global context.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers, product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to understand user needs, feature objectives, and technical requirements.
Contribute to designing complex workflows, data-dense interfaces, and operational decision-support experiences.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that improve user experience and meet product requirements.
Contribute to and apply the team's design system to ensure consistency across the SaaS platform.
Work within modern product development workflows using shared design systems, component libraries, and close collaboration with front-end engineering teams.
Translate workflows and technical concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging user experiences, with mentorship and support from senior team members.
Work closely with engineering teams to support accurate implementation of designs.
Apply critical thinking and user-centred judgment when using AI-assisted tools to ensure outputs are accurate, usable, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
Participate in advocating for the user throughout the product development process.
Use analytics and user feedback to help iterate on and improve product designs after release.
Apply accessibility standards and SaaS industry best practices in all design work.
Stay curious about UX/UI trends, SaaS-specific design patterns, and emerging tools to continuously grow as a designer.
Support the communication of design rationale and help present concepts to stakeholders, with guidance from senior team members.
Requirements
Advanced Diploma or Degree in a design or related field, or equivalent practical experience
2–4 years of experience in product design or a related role
Some experience working in, or exposure to, a software product development environment
Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Design, Figma Make)
A growing technical knowledge balanced with creative ability and a hands-on approach
Able to work independently on defined tasks while asking for help and direction when needed
Strong attention to detail, including clear documentation skills
Able to listen and develop an understanding of product and user requirements
Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Able to sketch initial ideas and produce basic functional specifications, wireframes, and mock-ups.
