Lead Systems Administrator enhancing maritime intelligence solutions for a growing tech company. Responsible for IT lifecycle management, system configuration, and network infrastructure support.
Responsibilities
Own the full employee IT lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—ensuring new hires are productive on day one and systems remain secure, scalable, and lightweight as the company grows.
Design, deploy, and evolve cloud and SaaS systems (Azure AD, Intune, Jamf, AWS) with an emphasis on simplicity, automation, and scalability, making judicious trade-offs where necessary.
Develop and maintain network diagrams, manage firewall configurations, VPN (Fortinet / OpenVPN) and AWS Server setups, and ensure secure and efficient network operations.
Oversee the configuration and management of security tools, including email security solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Defender, and log management systems.
Create and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficient operations.
Provide responsive, solution-oriented support while proactively identifying recurring issues and eliminating root causes through automation or process improvement.
Manage and deploy system patches and updates to maintain security and functionality across all devices.
Requirements
Proven experience in IT system administration, with a focus on user account management, system configuration, and network infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint, Intune for Windows, Jamf for Mac
Experience with Fortinet firewall management and VPN configuration.
Proficiency in configuring and managing security tools such as email security solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Defender, and log management systems.
Familiarity with device imaging and deployment processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
