About the role

  • Part-time bilingual telehealth counselor providing brief, solution-focused counseling for ComPsych’s workplace mental health and absence-management programs. Conducting assessments, treatment planning, referrals, and client documentation remotely from British Columbia.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ presenting issues
  • Establish treatment plans aimed at resolving identified issues
  • Facilitate referrals to long-term treatment and/or community resources when clinically appropriate
  • Maintain a caseload of 8 sessions per day, with 45-minute sessions and 15 minutes for documentation
  • Work 20 hours per week and be available for possible weekend and/or evening hours
  • Utilize brief, solution-focused interventions
  • Ensure safety for clients at risk of harming themselves or others
  • Refer clients to long-term treatment using benefit plans and/or community resources
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all client contacts in the ComPsych system
  • Strengthen professional knowledge through review of telehealth counseling trends, treatment modalities, and evidence-based interventions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical counseling experience required
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology required
  • Independent clinical license required for British Columbia
  • Experience providing direct clinical services and solution-focused therapy
  • Knowledge of treatment issues and EAP services
  • Exceptional communication skills, customer service focus, and sound clinical judgment
  • Quick thinking, high energy, positive and professional approach
  • Demonstrated multitasking and critical-thinking skills
  • High-speed internet and a distraction-free, disruption-free, and noise-free workspace
  • Ability to be on camera for work-related trainings, meetings, and events
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer
  • Must work remotely from British Columbia and be licensed in British Columbia
