About the role

  • Technical Writer creating user-focused documentation for PulseLearning’s global learning solutions. Researching, editing, and maintaining guides, manuals, procedures, and performance-support materials.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and maintain technical guides, user manuals, system documentation, installation guides, configuration guides, process documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, engineers, systems specialists, business analysts, and other technical stakeholders to gather and validate information
  • Develop documentation for technical and business audiences, including users, customers, administrators, and support teams
  • Review and analyze existing documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, outdated information, duplication, and improvement opportunities
  • Apply information architecture, content structure, terminology, formatting, and style guidelines
  • Ensure documentation is clear, concise, consistent, audience-appropriate, accessible, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards
  • Support creation of job aids, quick reference guides, learner materials, and performance support resources
  • Use diagrams, screenshots, tables, flowcharts, and other visual elements to explain complex information
  • Maintain awareness of technical writing practices, documentation technologies, content management tools, and AI-enabled content development tools
  • Follow information security, confidentiality, data protection, and document management requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Journalism, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline
  • Certifications in Technical Writing, Content Strategy, Professional Writing, Information Design, or a related discipline
  • Three or more years of demonstrated professional work experience developing high-quality technical documentation for complex systems, processes, products, or technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English or French, corresponding to the role stream
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical information and communicate it clearly to different audiences
  • Experience working directly with technical subject matter experts, developers, engineers, systems specialists, and business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of information architecture, content structure, document design, and technical communication principles
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Excellent skills with document and content development tools
  • Ability to pass and maintain a security screening
