About the role
- Senior Engineering Manager at Intel shaping compilation technology for AI, HPC, and heterogeneous computing. Leading teams to drive innovative compiler solutions and strategies aligned with Intel's vision.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-year compiler strategy across compilation technologies
- Influence architectural direction for AI workloads, heterogeneous compute, and performance portability
- Lead development of next-generation compiler capabilities for CPU, GPU and accelerators
- Serve as a technical authority, guiding critical design decisions and resolving complex cross-domain challenges
- Lead multiple teams or a significant organizational segment delivering end-to-end compiler capabilities
- Drive execution of large, cross-functional programs spanning multiple business units
- Ensure alignment between architecture, compiler, runtime, and hardware roadmaps
- Balance execution excellence with long-term innovation and scalability
- Build and leverage relationships across Intel to drive cross-organizational outcomes
- Influence decisions on strategic, ambiguous, and far-reaching technical challenges
- Lead or contribute to industry standards and open-source communities (LLVM, MLIR, SYCL, OpenMP)
- Represent Intel externally as a thought leader in compiler and AI systems
- Drive innovation in: AI compiler optimization techniques, Cross-layer performance (compiler runtime hardware), Scalable compiler infrastructure
- Translate evolving business and technical needs into clear strategies and execution plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience (or equivalent)
- 10+ years in software engineering, including compiler, systems, or performance engineering
- 5+ years of engineering management with experience leading large or multiple teams
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and deliver complex systems
- Deep expertise in one or more areas: Compiler design (LLVM, MLIR, GCC), AI/ML compilers or frameworks, Domain specific languages (DSLs), Front-end languages or language standards
- Strong understanding of CPU/GPU/accelerator architectures
- Experience shaping technical strategy across organizations
- Demonstrated leadership in open-source communities
- Track record of influencing organization-level or industry-wide direction
