About the role

  • Senior Project Manager overseeing Ledcor's long-term Alberta highway maintenance projects. Leading teams, budgets, contracts, safety, and client delivery across diverse worksites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support delivery of critical highway maintenance projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope and budget, and to high quality and safety standards
  • Provide strategic direction and lead cross-functional teams
  • Optimize operational performance and support continuous improvement
  • Oversee multiple highway maintenance projects lasting three to ten years across multiple clients and contract requirements
  • Manage a typical project revenue portfolio of approximately $60M per year, with individual projects valued at $5M to $30M per year
  • Oversee three to seven direct reports and coordinate with operations teams, craft employees, subcontractors and vendors
  • Champion Ledcor's safety-first culture and ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
  • Oversee project scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Manage project systems, cost tracking, reporting and documentation
  • Support implementation of the Quality Management Program and ensure compliance with quality specifications
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams for timely delivery of materials and services
  • Execute contracts and manage change orders
  • Support labour relations, human resources and payroll teams using systems such as Workday and InEight
  • Serve as the primary project-level client relationship holder

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in dynamic project manager roles, including construction, services or industrial settings
  • Deep understanding of Health and Safety as a core company value
  • Experience working with Canadian Construction Safety Association (CCSA) members would be an asset
  • Engineering, Master of Business Administration, financial designation or other relevant post-secondary degree would be an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of key Project Manager responsibilities
  • Open to relocation to the Edmonton area
  • Track record leading teams of up to 7 direct reports across remote worksites
  • Experience with employee growth and development, coaching, and performance management
  • Formal performance processes would be an asset
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate contract and performance requirements
  • Experience with change management, including change orders and scope adjustments
  • Communication strategies to address, mitigate and resolve contractual challenges or disputes
  • Strong financial acumen, including project estimates, budgets, contracts and forecasting
  • Use of InEight Software and JDE would be highly beneficial
  • Experience with project controls including quantity tracking, earned value, scheduling, accruals and deferrals
  • Ability to build relationships and support operations across geographically diverse worksites
  • Ability to recommend optimized and efficient construction practices
  • Extensive experience in project scheduling and subcontract management
  • Extensive experience in change management
