About the role

Full Stack Engineer building JavaScript and Python applications for Ledgebrook, an InsurTech MGA modernizing specialty insurance. Developing scalable APIs, LLM tools, and underwriting technology.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features and enhance existing applications
Design and implement frontend and backend components using JavaScript (Node.js) and Python
Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services as needed
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
Implement automated tests and ensure high code quality through code reviews and continuous integration
Optimize application performance and scalability to handle growing user demands
Use and build LLMs to enhance underwriters’ productivity
Debug production issues using the latest tooling
Help set the direction of the small but growing engineering team

3+ years of experience with full stack development
Ability to facilitate and gather business requirements and develop scalable engineering solutions
Strong ability to design data models based on business domain use cases
Proven ability to write maintainable and testable code
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or other tools
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and execute to deadlines
Experience with Python and JavaScript is a nice-to-have
Experience solving insurance industry/domain-related challenges is a nice-to-have
Experience with web technologies and frameworks including JS/TS, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Angular, React, Bootstrap, and Node.js is a nice-to-have
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a nice-to-have
