About the role
- Pension consultant implementing Canadian defined-benefit plan systems for Levio, a digital-transformation leader. Reviewing actuarial calculations, compliance, configuration, and testing.
Responsibilities
- Review pension plan provisions and ensure compliance of calculations with applicable Canadian rules and legislation
- Participate in configuring a partner's pension plan administration system based on client-specific plan features
- Review documentation related to parameter configuration
- Support system developers in configuring new features
- Develop the test strategy for benefit calculations, review test scenarios, regression testing, and test results
- Improve calculation tools and internal procedures
- Participate in organizational projects requiring pension plan administration expertise
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or actuarial mathematics
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of pension plans in Canada and the laws governing them
- Ability to analyze complex information related to pension plans
- Good communication skills in French and strong communication skills in English; the majority of the work will be done in English
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience in Excel or SQL programming language will be considered an asset
- Proficiency in computer tools, including process modeling tools and tracking systems, will be considered an asset
- Strong sense of organization and resourcefulness
- Ability to work in a team with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability in effective time management, including meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks and deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, managers, and senior management
- Excellent analytical skills
- Attention to detail, precision, and rigor
