About the role

  • Legal Editor managing Canadian legal publications and authors for LexisNexis. Coordinating French-language editorial, translation, and AI-supported content workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate assigned publications available online and in print;
  • Follow up with authors to obtain manuscript submissions and updates in accordance with established schedules;
  • Recruit new authors and replace authors who withdraw;
  • Participate in the editorial process and publication of French-language manuscripts;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the legal community and external partners;
  • Contribute to various translation projects;
  • Serve as a resource for authors and the various internal teams.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of French;
  • Excellent command of English;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law;
  • Member of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec is an asset;
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet publication deadlines for our print and online products;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with contributors and work on projects involving multiple teams;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office;
  • Proficiency in integrating artificial intelligence into work processes, including the daily use of large language models (LLMs) and AI tools to support content analysis and development, as well as iterative prompt optimization to ensure consistently high-quality results.
