About the role
- Benefits Calculation Analyst calculating STD/LTD benefits and overpayment recoveries for Manulife, an international financial services provider. Explaining overpayments to plan members and arranging repayments.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and code offsets and adjusted Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits in Navigator.
- Inform plan members of overpayment amounts and explain them verbally and in writing.
- Follow up with plan members for reimbursement of overpayments.
- Negotiate acceptable repayment plans when necessary.
- Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator.
Requirements
- Good understanding of group disability contract language and the impact of various income sources on disability benefits
- Strong customer service focus and ability to deliver difficult messages empathetically
- Experience in disability benefit calculations
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Capacity for constant learning from success and failure
- Openness to change and continuous improvement
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset; if based in Québec, proficiency in both languages is required to support clients from various provinces outside Québec
- Experience with Navigator is an asset
