About the role

  • Benefits Calculation Analyst calculating STD/LTD benefits and overpayment recoveries for Manulife, an international financial services provider. Explaining overpayments to plan members and arranging repayments.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and code offsets and adjusted Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits in Navigator.
  • Inform plan members of overpayment amounts and explain them verbally and in writing.
  • Follow up with plan members for reimbursement of overpayments.
  • Negotiate acceptable repayment plans when necessary.
  • Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of group disability contract language and the impact of various income sources on disability benefits
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to deliver difficult messages empathetically
  • Experience in disability benefit calculations
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Capacity for constant learning from success and failure
  • Openness to change and continuous improvement
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset; if based in Québec, proficiency in both languages is required to support clients from various provinces outside Québec
  • Experience with Navigator is an asset
