- Engineering Manager leading and developing engineering teams in Affinity Insurance Technology at Manulife. Delivering scalable technical solutions and enhancing operational stability while coaching staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to identify problems and deliver valuable solutions
- Guide the delivery of new products and technology upgrades
- Monitor progress against commitments and remove blockers
- Translate complex program requirements into clear technical direction
- Collaborate across teams to improve processes and tooling
Requirements
- 4+ years experience leading technology teams of 8+
- Demonstrated success building and supporting high-performing teams
- Comfort working across a broad technology landscape (modern web applications, APIs, backend systems, and legacy platforms)
- Practical experience with Agile and DevOps practices (e.g., continuous integration, automated testing, iterative delivery)
- Strong communication skills (ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences)
