About the role
- Architectural walls technician installing demountable wall systems and glazed office fronts. Supporting Maxan’s commercial, institutional, and industrial construction projects across the GTA.
Responsibilities
- Install demountable architectural wall systems and glazed office fronts on commercial construction projects, working from project drawings and installation requirements
- Review project information, confirm site conditions, and complete required measurements and layout
- Complete wall, door, frame, and glazing installations with attention to fit, alignment, finish, and quality
- Adapt installation methods and make field adjustments when site conditions or project requirements change
- Prepare, modify, and fit materials and components as required
- Identify installation concerns, material issues, and site conditions requiring attention, and communicate them to appropriate team members
- Work safely and efficiently using required tools, equipment, and access equipment
- Maintain an organized work area and care for company tools, equipment, and materials
- Coordinate with supervisors, project teams, other trades, and site personnel to keep projects on schedule
- Follow Maxan’s quality, safety, and site requirements while representing the company professionally
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience with and knowledge of demountable architectural wall systems and Glazed Office Fronts in ICI construction is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Valid Working at Heights certification
- Valid Elevated Work Platform training certificate
- Valid Powder Actuated Tools training certificate
- WHMIS and Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in the GTA and surrounding areas
- Must be a union member in good standing with Local 675 or willing to join
