About the role

  • Bilingual specialist managing leave and disability programs for McCarthy Tétrault. Supporting colleagues across Canada in leave management and accommodations process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage disability leaves and accommodation processes firm-wide
  • Act as the primary point of contact for firm members and our vendors regarding any information related to our leave and accommodation benefits programs
  • Administer and coordinate all short-term and long-term disability leave requests as well as accommodation requests
  • Support firm members at all stages of disability leaves and accommodations
  • Provide third-party providers and insurers with the documentation, information and support required to assess and manage disability and accommodation claims
  • Ensure that all communications and documentation related to leaves and accommodations are stored securely
  • Track dates, statuses and return-to-work timelines related to leaves and accommodations in HR systems
  • Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accuracy of leave-related payments and adjustments to benefits
  • Serve as a liaison between firm members, managers, internal stakeholders and third-party providers
  • Administer and calculate top-up payments and supplemental benefits related to leaves
  • Liaise with firm members, managers, Payroll, benefits providers and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other relevant equivalent education
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role related to leave and accommodation management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel
  • Knowledge of Canadian laws, regulations and programs related to employee benefits
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, is required
