About the role

  • Bilingual Total Rewards Specialist administering benefits, pensions, enrollments, and regulatory filings. Supporting employees across McCarthy Tétrault, a leading Canadian law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and communicate firm benefit programs and pension plans
  • Respond to inquiries submitted through the Total Rewards Centre of Expertise HR Services inbox and ServiceNow
  • Assign requests to relevant team members
  • Process benefit-related requests from firm members and retirees
  • Coordinate wellness, technology, tuition reimbursement programs, corporate agreements and discount updates
  • Update eligibility lists for benefit suppliers
  • Process monthly benefit supplier invoices
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the team
  • Maintain accessible and accurate employee-benefit information in Espresso and official documents
  • Complete monthly and annual Centre of Expertise activities with the Manager, Total Rewards
  • Facilitate employee-benefit orientation sessions for new firm members
  • Coordinate and lead bi-weekly benefits orientation sessions for staff members and associates
  • Send enrollment communications and follow up on actions in Workday
  • Manage in-year and annual enrollments, transfers and member communications for DC pension and Group RRSP plans
  • Track weekly RRSP enrollments
  • Process Defined Benefit plan settlements and estimates
  • Support pension-plan regulatory filings across Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures to optimize benefits-related processes
  • Support broader Total Rewards initiatives and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or human resources, or other equivalent education relevant to the role
  • Bilingualism (English and French) both spoken and written is required
  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar position linked to benefits administration
  • Proven experience utilizing Workday, especially within the Benefits module
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software, including Excel at an intermediate level
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proactive and able to carry out job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure within non-flexible deadlines
  • Ability to adjust to changing needs of the Firm
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Personable, approachable disposition and strong professional acumen
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
