About the role

  • Solutions Architect at Medavie focusing on modern, secure IT solutions aligning with long-term business objectives. Collaborating with various teams to deliver tech leadership across infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and influence IT solution strategies that align with Medavie’s long-term business goals.
  • Act as Infrastructure Applications Management Process Owner, developing and maintaining architecture designs, runbooks, policies, processes, procedures and support documentation.
  • Design, plan, and implement new infrastructure technologies and major system enhancements.
  • Lead or contribute to complex solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps and system lifecycle milestones.
  • Collaborate with business units, IT architects, application teams, vendor management, and operations.
  • Evaluate and manage release, deployment, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Analyze availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability of services and systems.
  • Present recommendations on new and emerging technologies to senior leadership, clearly articulating business value.
  • Promote standardization and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach team members, acting as a technical role model and knowledge leader.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant IT role.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and development lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions in Azure and on-premises.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure core services and PaaS offerings, enterprise hardware/software systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere) and software engineering processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Language Skills: English (Spoken and Written) required. French (Spoken and Written) considered an asset.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B).
