About the role
- Technical Lead driving onboarding, analytics and conversion experiments for Method’s customizable SMB CRM. Leading engineers and responsible AI-assisted development across the Growth team.
Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction for onboarding, trial engagement and conversion
- Scope projects, design solutions and lead them from idea to production
- Prototype, build, experiment on and maintain onboarding and adoption experiences
- Ship partial solutions for quick insights and decide whether to strengthen, automate or discard them
- Use mockups, POCs, rapid development and AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery
- Advocate for intuitive and easy-to-use products
- Design and build client libraries and frameworks to log events and accurately track user behavior
- Build data pipelines to monitor product metrics and measure experiment impact
- Integrate experimentation infrastructure to enable measurement and personalization
- Gather requirements and design shared datasets across teams
- Scope, design and oversee technical projects from start to finish
- Lead and mentor engineers through rigorous design and code reviews
- Set standards for developer workflows and responsible use of AI coding tools
- Make build-versus-buy decisions involving third-party and AI-powered tools
- Help hire and grow the team
- By 30 days, understand the architecture, customer workflows, team and risks
- By 60 days, lead technical design and delivery of a priority initiative
- By 90 days, ship a measurable improvement, set technical direction, mentor the team and improve AI-tool workflows
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of software development experience, ideally on production applications
- 1–3 years of technical leadership experience on significant, complex projects
- Full stack experience with C#/.NET, SQL and React, or comparable technologies
- Strong background in data engineering, analytics and A/B testing
- Experience designing experiments, instrumenting them and making product decisions from results
- Expertise in rapid prototyping, mockups and POCs
- Hands-on, daily use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot
- Clear point of view on using AI-assisted development tools effectively on a team
- Strong focus on user experience and usability
- Ability to make and communicate sound technical trade-offs
- Ability to lead through influence
- Ability to create clarity from ambiguity and mentor developers through rigorous design and code reviews
- Ability to coach engineers on effective AI-tool practices
- Ability to turn incidents and delivery problems into lasting improvements
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent training or experience is nice to have
- Ability to work from the downtown Toronto office 2–3 days per week
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employer sponsorship
