About the role
- Underwriter managing personal lines business for MutualONE, which offers comprehensive insurance solutions. Collaborating with agents and brokers to ensure positive stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite policies in all lines of business (auto, property and liability)
- Complete risk assessments, rate, and negotiate terms on a variety of risks
- Apply technical knowledge and experience to underwriting, rating and documentation
- Maintain service standards and responsive handling of quotes, new business, endorsements, and policy renewals
- Maintain accurate, well-documented files on an electronic claims system
- Collaborate with industry partners
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Possess post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Have a CIP designation or willing to embark on the CIP program
- Have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of underwriting experience
- Establish positive relationships with agents, brokers, and other external stakeholders
- Be well organized with a high attention to detail
- Have a proven ability to contribute to and work well within a team environment
- Have proficient computer skills and the aptitude to learn computer applications as required
