About the role
- QA Software Engineer building Flutter and FastAPI/gRPC test infrastructure for Nest Veterinary’s managed veterinary care-plan platform. Owning AI-assisted QA, observability, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build a robust test suite for Flutter web and desktop applications and FastAPI/gRPC backend services
- Build contract and integration tests for critical APIs, including payment processing, PIMS integrations, and internal services
- Use LLMs to generate test cases from pull requests, specifications, and code diffs, then curate and maintain the output
- Use AI for exploratory testing to surface edge cases and inconsistencies
- Build and maintain prompt libraries and repeatable AI-assisted QA workflows
- Own observability from a quality and reliability perspective, including error budgets, alerting thresholds, anomaly detection, and resilience testing
- Instrument visual regression testing for admin and hospital-facing user interfaces
- Develop and maintain test data management strategies and reusable test utilities
- Establish defect reporting, triage workflows, quality metrics, and release-readiness reporting
- Collaborate with developers, product, and customer support to identify quality risks early
- Improve test patterns across the codebase and evaluate and integrate AI testing tools
Requirements
- 3+ years in a QA, SDET, or test automation role, with an automation-first focus
- Active, demonstrated use of AI/LLM tools in testing and reliability workflows, such as Claude, Copilot, or Codex
- Strong proficiency in Dart and Flutter testing, including unit, widget, golden, and integration tests
- Experience testing Flutter Web using Playwright or similar, and/or Flutter Desktop applications strongly preferred
- Comfort writing Python tests for FastAPI and gRPC services; pytest experience is a plus
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar
- Comfort working across Flutter frontends, Python/gRPC backends, and third-party integrations
- Experience with contract testing or API testing frameworks
- Familiarity with production observability tools such as Sentry or Datadog, and reliability concepts including SLOs and error budgets
- Strong product intuition to identify high-risk paths
- Self-directed ability to build a quality function from zero
