About the role

  • Lead AI architect guiding strategy and delivering solutions for clients at Nexus Innovations. Defining architectures while building a Data & AI practice in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define AI architectures for projects (components, platforms, APIs, hosting), ensuring security, privacy and data governance
  • Recommend iterative approaches (alpha, beta, phased rollout) and document technology risks
  • Prioritize and plan technology investments to develop reusable assets (tools, components, accelerators) to increase project velocity and the value delivered to clients
  • Continuously monitor the field and produce expert content (webinars, blogs, events)
  • Develop and maintain quality standards for the AI practice (CI/CD, versioning, reproducibility, runbooks)
  • Ensure internal knowledge sharing and mentor team members
  • Identify and prioritize a standard catalog of AI components
  • Provide strategic AI advice to our clients
  • Contribute to AI roadmap engagements and co-facilitate strategic workshops (AI scoping, AI acceleration)
  • Communicate AI approaches in plain language and qualify technical requirements during pre-sales
  • Produce pre-sales deliverables: RFP responses, architecture diagrams, cost analysis
  • Participate in creating client proposals (Statements of Work)
  • Help grow the Data & AI practice
  • Contribute to structuring the AI practice and defining service offerings (supporting the Director, Data & AI)
  • Participate in recruiting and the organization's Data & AI strategy

Requirements

  • Approximately 7+ years of experience in software development or software architecture, including several years working with cloud solutions
  • Proficient in the Azure AI ecosystem (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, ML Studio, Databricks)
  • Proven experience in technical leadership or AI solutions architecture (LLMs, ML, RAG, heuristics)
  • Comfortable with client interactions: explaining concepts in plain language, scoping, and presenting
  • Motivated to build an AI practice in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Bilingual in French and English (required)
