About the role

  • Senior Environment Artist creating high-quality environments in Unreal Engine 5 for Offworld's multiplayer games. Collaborating on large-scale levels, structures, and textures while optimizing for performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality, optimized real-time environments in Unreal Engine 5
  • Build modular environment kits for large-scale levels
  • Develop terrain, foliage, set dressing, and architectural assets
  • Create structures (interior and exterior), natural landscapes, and supporting assets using Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, ZBrush, and other relevant tools
  • Assemble and polish environments directly inside Unreal Engine 5 using Nanite, World Partition, Landscape tools, Foliage system, and Virtual Textures
  • Create and maintain high-quality master materials and material instances that support artistic direction and performance targets
  • Author tileable textures, trim sheets, and hero materials using Substance Painter/Designer and PBR workflows
  • Work closely with Level Design to craft immersive, readable, and gameplay-supportive environments
  • Profile and optimize environments using Unreal tools to meet scalability and performance requirements
  • Participate actively in art reviews and contribute to improving pipelines and workflows
  • Create documentation and establish best practices to support team consistency and efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with Unreal Engine 5 in a production environment
  • Strong experience creating natural and architectural environments for games
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize real-time environments for performance
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, or equivalent 3D software
  • Strong understanding of Nanite, LOD workflows, World Partition, and environment optimization in UE5
  • Experience creating and managing materials in UE5
  • Solid understanding of PBR material pipelines using Substance Designer and Painter
  • Strong skills in authoring tileable textures, trim sheets, and modular asset sets
  • A strong understanding of scene composition.
  • Deep understanding of how environment art supports gameplay readability and level design
  • Experience establishing and improving content creation workflows
  • Ability to work independently and initiate strong visual direction when concepts are limited.
