About the role
- Service Technician diagnosing and repairing agricultural, turf, and compact construction equipment at Premier Equipment. Providing on-site and workshop services while ensuring excellent customer support.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair agricultural, turf, and compact construction equipment—both in the shop and out in the field.
- Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural, CWP, and turf equipment, as well as established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
- Participate in required Service EDUCATE training programs.
- Support customer clinics.
- Review and explain any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with customers and document them on work orders.
- May promote and sell Premier Equipment Ltd. service programs directly to customers.
- Establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicle.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Maintain the condition of the mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
- Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on service repair experience.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic abilities.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and basic computer functions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly and operate diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred Licensed technician (310T, 310S, 421A, or 425A).
- Advanced or Master Service Technician certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with John Deere equipment and systems.
- CDL and forklift licenses.
- Background in agricultural, turf, or compact construction equipment.
