About the role

  • RBC banking associate supporting Financial Planners with client advice, sales, investments, credit, and everyday banking. Serving Cantonese- or Mandarin-speaking clients across British Columbia locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive sales support and responsive value-based client contact for a team of Financial Planners
  • Support the unit/team in achieving sales objectives by contributing to a differentiated client experience
  • Collaborate with organizational partners to identify and meet client needs and goals
  • Provide pre- and post-interaction enablement, client service, and fulfillment connected to financial plans
  • Identify client needs, make referrals, expand profitable client relationships, and track progress against the annual sales plan
  • Assist with client meeting preparations
  • Support fulfillment of credit, investment, and everyday banking solutions
  • Proactively lead with advice and serve clients through digital channels as a Digital Ambassador
  • Keep current on technology and build digital IQ
  • Follow policies and procedures and identify/correct operational risk areas
  • Support Financial Planners in Burnaby, East Van, New Westminster, Surrey, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and East Okanagan

Requirements

  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada, or the Canadian Securities Course)
  • Breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments and credit, with the ability to fulfill on a robust Advice Experience for personal and business needs
  • Strong client contact routines that proactively build calendars and integrate retention and anchoring activities
  • Cantonese or Mandarin language skills
  • Flexibility, eagerness to learn, strong personal ethics, and hunger for success
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, demonstrating strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to leverage internal partners to meet clients’ full suite of financial needs
  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial industry
  • Ability to provide increasingly complex everyday banking, investment and credit advice for personal and business clients
