About the role

  • Senior risk manager overseeing controls, assessments, and governance for RBC’s global technology functions. Advising executives and leading risk remediation, testing, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all underlying risks in the Risk Register and evaluate all new risks
  • Lead successful control testing for GFT as controls are scheduled for testing
  • Document and manage EIM Issues and ITRM Findings from creation to closure
  • Serve as a Risk Management Subject Matter Expert for more junior staff
  • Oversee and report on timely completion of Application Control Assessments
  • Understand risks, issues, KRIs, and reports feeding into the Risk and Control Self-Assessment and provide advice to Senior Management
  • Describe the Business Unit’s Risk Profile, including actions to remediate excess risk exposure
  • Manage creation of new risks and controls, including completion of control testing
  • Build and present materials for senior-level risk management meetings and distribute notes and action items
  • Develop next-generation tools and processes to streamline risk management and gain risk insights
  • Participate in and lead risk-related projects and assessments across GFT, including remediation activities and new tool implementation

Requirements

  • CRISC or equivalent designation
  • 7+ years of experience as a risk professional
  • Initiative and self-starter ability; ability to navigate situations where requirements may not initially be clear
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Strong understanding of technology and/or the financial services industry
  • Experience using LLMs to generate plans, management reports and presentations
  • Ability to build and integrate Agentic AI agents to make manual processes more efficient
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Previous knowledge/experience with key risk/indicator tools such as ERIC/Archer
  • Ability to facilitate discussion between and influence key decision makers
  • Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills to work across multiple functions and businesses
