Finance Technology Project Manager leading delivery of finance systems and technology projects at Sagard. Requires expertise in accounting technology and project management with collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of projects related to financial systems and accounting technologies, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget and scope
Develop detailed project plans including schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource allocation and stakeholder responsibilities
Proactively identify and manage risks, issues and blockers, enabling timely resolution with Finance, IT, vendors and business partners
Translate Finance process needs into clearly defined scopes, deliverables, business requirements and success criteria
Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to document current and future processes, controls, roles and decision points
Coordinate implementation activities for accounting and financial platforms such as ERPs, accounts payable automation, EPM, expense management and related systems
Lead Finance technology streams in M&A integration contexts, including process alignment, system integration, data readiness, control mapping and transition planning
Support vendor management, including coordinating work plans, deliverables, status reporting, testing and issue resolution
Establish clear communication cadences, including project updates, workshops and steering committees
Communicate accounting technology concepts clearly and in a structured way to financial and non-financial audiences
Coordinate testing, data preparation, cutover planning, deployment activities and handover to operations and support teams
Work with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of new financial systems, processes and ways of working
Apply consistent project management frameworks, tools and documentation aligned with Digital Solutions team standards
Contribute to the evolution of Finance transformation delivery practices, repeatable models and playbooks
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, transparency, controls and consistency of Finance technology deliveries.
Requirements
5–8 years of experience in financial systems project management, Finance transformation, accounting technology implementations or related roles
Strong understanding of accounting operations, Finance processes and system-supported controls
Experience leading or supporting implementations of accounting and financial systems such as ERPs, accounts payable automation, EPM, expense management or consolidation platforms
Hands-on experience with systems such as Sage Intacct, SAP, Concur, Workday or OneStream is considered a strong asset
CPA designation preferred but not required, particularly for candidates who have moved into systems implementation or Finance transformation
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects involving Finance, IT, vendors and senior stakeholders
Solid project management fundamentals, including planning, risk management, governance, status reporting and communication
Ability to translate Finance and accounting requirements into clear documentation and implementation plans accessible to business stakeholders
Experience developing formal business requirements, process documentation, test plans, training materials and cutover plans
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet or MS Project
Experience implementing Finance or accounting technologies in M&A environments, post-acquisition integrations or organizational integrations is strongly preferred
Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is considered an asset
For all Quebec-based roles, fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, is required. English is required due to regular interactions with colleagues and external partners located outside Quebec.
