About the role

  • Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for designing and analyzing electrical systems for oil and gas facilities. Collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers
  • Support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues
  • Assist project lead in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Prepare and review detailed calculations
  • Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others
  • Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • A BSEE degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
  • 5+ years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
  • Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
  • Experience in reviewing other engineers design calculations and drawings.
