About the role
- Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for designing and analyzing electrical systems for oil and gas facilities. Collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
Responsibilities
- Work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers
- Support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues
- Assist project lead in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
- Prepare and review detailed calculations
- Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production
- Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications
- Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly
- Perform independent reviews of work performed by others
- Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- A BSEE degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design
- Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
- Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems
- Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design
- Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
- Experience in reviewing other engineers design calculations and drawings.
