Senior BI Developer responsible for engineering scalable Power BI solutions for data platform modernization. Collaborating with teams to optimize performance and support enterprise KPI frameworks.
Responsibilities
Build reusable, scalable report templates
Implement advanced DAX measures aligned to standardized KPI definitions
Optimize performance of semantic models and reports
Support migration of legacy reports into Fabric/Power BI
Design and maintain enterprise Power BI semantic models
Implement star schema models using conformed dimensions
Collaborate with Senior Analytics Engineer on schema design
Ensure consistent use of conformed dimensions and measures
Avoid metric duplication and shadow calculations
Support RLS implementation and governance controls
Tune DAX and model performance
Implement incremental refresh where appropriate
Maintain alignment with SOX-related controls and documentation standards
Follow Dev/Test/Prod deployment processes
Contribute to BI standards and best practices
Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions
Partner with Finance, Operations, Retail, and other stakeholders
Support KPI clarification and validation
Improve report usability and adoption
Requirements
5+ years experience in Power BI development
Advanced DAX (CALCULATE, context transition, time intelligence, optimization)
Strong understanding of star schema and dimensional modeling
Experience building and managing semantic models
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS)
Strong SQL skills
Experience with Power BI CI/CD, including deployment pipelines, version control, and Dev/Test/Prod promotion.
Experience working in Azure or Microsoft Fabric environment
Understanding of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
Ability to work within governed data models
Familiarity with SCD concepts and fact grain principles
Awareness of data governance and compliance considerations.
