About the role

  • Manager, Financial Planning Strategy at Sun Life responsible for ensuring high-quality financial roadmaps for clients. Leading initiatives and collaborating with advisors and stakeholders to improve financial planning services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tactics to achieve and execute on financial planning strategic initiatives
  • Lead financial planning strategy projects from conception to completion
  • Drive planning results including financial plan volumes and quality metrics
  • Track and analyze results against strategic goals and targets
  • Oversee and monitor the quality assurance team review process and risk model
  • Manage review volumes and SLAs to ensure timely feedback to advisors and leaders
  • Communicate with advisors on financial roadmap quality issues
  • Manage and coordinate remediation for financial roadmaps with partners teams
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of plan quality
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned from time to time
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create and manage a strategic roadmap for financial planning projects
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices to ensure seamless delivery of financial planning services to our clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a strategy and project execution role
  • 5+ years of experience with Financial Planning techniques, processes standards and regulation in Canada
  • Strategic thinking and execution capabilities
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Knowledge and experience of industry compliance standards and practices
  • Experience assisting with and/or completing compliance audits or tests
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to negotiate at all levels of the organization
  • Adaptability, exceptional organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
  • High proficiency with technology: Microsoft Excel (experience with pivot tables, V-look ups), data analytics, AI tools
  • Knowledge of the financial planning industry including emerging trends and opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
