About the role

  • Student Site Reliability Analyst supporting Sun Life’s financial-services technology reliability and monitoring. Building dashboards, analyzing performance, and helping prevent outages across global 24x7 services.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Event and Performance Management practice to support project and operational delivery priorities
  • Combine software and systems engineering to maintain stable, optimally performing applications and infrastructure
  • Monitor critical internal and external digital services for reliability and uptime
  • Identify capacity and performance concerns and optimization opportunities
  • Design and implement end-to-end monitors, dashboards, and reports
  • Use monitoring and development tools to reduce operational work and provide data to prevent future incidents
  • Take proactive actions to prevent potential outages
  • Collaborate with teams on the consultation, design, implementation, and management of monitoring tools, dashboards, and reports
  • Analyze metrics, identify trends, and execute reliability risk mitigation processes and strategies
  • Collaborate with IT Support, System Architecture, IT Security, and Enterprise Account Management teams for operational execution and service delivery
  • Create usable, verified, and accurate knowledge documents
  • Participate in industry developments and training and contribute to roadmap strategy
  • Provide or support off-hours troubleshooting and client-impacting changes within a global 24x7 service

Requirements

  • Reliability Status Clearance required before starting employment
  • Currently enrolled in a university degree or college diploma in computer sciences, information systems, or information technology
  • Graduation date of April 2027 or later
  • Prior experience supporting technology in an operational role
  • Prior experience with all stages of systems development and implementation, including requirements elicitation, architecture, design, development, testing, training, support, and maintenance
  • Experience with enterprise delivery methodologies such as Agile; ITIL knowledge welcomed
  • Experience with operational monitoring and performance management tools, including Broadcom Monitoring Suite, APM, DX APM, and xMatters
  • Experience with Autosys Batch Job Scheduler Suite or similar tools
  • Experience or familiarity with Release Management tools such as Broadcom CDD or similar
  • Experience with Splunk or similar software for searching, monitoring, and examining machine-generated big data
  • Experience with CyberArk or similar privileged-account security tools using password management
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, strategic thinking, and planning skills
  • Ability to analyze and present data using business analysis and business intelligence tools and techniques to create executive dashboards and reports
  • Strong collaboration, self-starter, strategic thinking, negotiation, and consensus-building skills
  • Availability for off-hours work and 24x7 support requirements
