About the role
- Product Owner driving customer-focused product delivery at TD, a global financial institution. Managing Agile backlogs, stakeholder alignment, releases, risks, and development-team priorities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the development team creates organizational value through customer-focused product increments
- Align with Product Owners and senior management on product vision and delivery roadmap
- Create, maintain, and continuously reprioritize the product backlog and user stories
- Define Minimum Marketable Features or Minimum Viable Products and release cadence
- Review performance analytics and recommend strategies to improve customer experience
- Participate in Scrum or Kanban events, including stand-ups and retrospectives
- Engage business process partners to prepare customers for application changes and establish Day 2 processes
- Oversee user story design, development, completion, and acceptance against the Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria
- Manage delivery initiatives and development team backlogs
- Raise delivery blockers and manage defect prioritization
- Maintain strategic alignment with senior management and manage stakeholder inputs
- Lead product-related Quarterly Business Review submissions and discussions
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on product strategy
- Coordinate risk, quality, and business testing management
- Make product delivery decisions and escalate as appropriate
- Communicate product changes and backlog priorities to business, technology, and senior management
- Serve as the development team's single point of escalation
- Compile performance metrics and define OKRs with stakeholders
- Identify and manage organizational risks and maintain risk-management controls
- Provide thought leadership, knowledge transfer, mentorship, and team development
- Maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a brand ambassador for TD
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate
- 7+ years relevant experience
- 3+ years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes, roles and practices
- Ability to interpret business challenges and industry environment
- Ability to solve complex problems and develop new solutions
- Ability to use analytical thought and exercise judgement
- Ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence senior stakeholders
