About the role

  • Auto Claims Advisor helping TD Insurance customers resolve vehicle claims for TD Insurance. Coordinating claims, appraisals, vendors, coverage, and fair settlements in Markham.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate auto insurance claims from start to finish
  • Arrange towing and set up appraisals
  • Explain policy coverage to customers
  • Gather, organize, and verify information and documentation
  • Reconcile vendor estimates to reach appropriate vehicle-damage settlements
  • Maintain positive file count and open/close ratio
  • Collaborate with internal partners, external vendors, Enterprise, repair shops, TD Auto Centre partners, direct repair partners, and non-preferred shops
  • Research coverage scenarios and apply knowledge to claim files
  • Greet and welcome customers at TD Auto Centres
  • Apply unbiased methods to resolve files and achieve fair claim settlements
  • Communicate claims-processing requirements
  • Maintain detailed claims notes
  • Provide timely progress updates and responses to client inquiries
  • Contribute to a positive team environment

Requirements

  • One or more years of claims adjusting experience preferred
  • Postsecondary education considered an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Superior time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Proven ability to negotiate positive outcomes
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations
  • Ability to analyze evidence and identify discrepancies or gaps in data and reports
  • Demonstrated support for company process improvements
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and/or relevant continuing education preferred
  • Provincial claims licensing may be required
