About the role

  • Intermediate Air Quality Engineer for Geosyntec focusing on air permitting assessments in Ontario and collaborating on diverse environmental projects.

Responsibilities

  • technical writing (reports, letters, memoranda, work plans, etc.) and complex data analysis
  • developing air emission inventories and performing air dispersion modelling using AERMOD or similar models
  • collaborating with a diverse team to support challenging technical projects including task and project management
  • leading technical assessments, budgeting and budget management, ensuring quality, and delivering on client satisfaction
  • fieldwork primarily focused on site inspections

Requirements

  • at least 5 years of experience performing air permitting assessments in Ontario
  • bachelor's degree in environmental science (including chemistry or biology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering
  • professional engineer (i.e., P.Eng) or qualified for professional registration in the future
  • emission inventory development
  • air dispersion modelling
  • effective and clear communication skills (oral and writing)
  • experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and potentially legally sensitive projects (preferred)
  • regular fieldwork and overnight travel
  • valid Canadian driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel
